Better safe than sorry! (I didn't mean my post to be a correction to yours, only an elaboration.)
As for the dishwasher (mentioned by both me and Phil Smith), this would likely be a mistake on a laptop keyboard, as the plastic is thinner and more susceptible to warping, and even a little warping would be a problem with a laptop keyboard.
