Thanks Jonathan, I wonder if you have any comments on your T510 seven
weeks later. Is it well made? Was it delivered in reasonable time? And
how horribly heavy does it feel after an X32? My T41p (and 600 before
that) always felt like a reasonable weight, except compared to my
X300.

RFD does seem to be the best bet for a Canadian order from Lenovo.
They have another 35% coupon now (expires May 18), I'm still trying to
hold off until July 2 when the 8% PST converts to an 8% increase in
the GST -- it's only about $80 on a $1000 computer but I figure the
computers will keep getting cheaper anyway. :)

I am concerned about the continuing discrepancy in retail prices,
though it will take an Excel session to find the optimal solution, I
think (order from Lenovo US means paying 8% NYS tax and then if I
want the Nexus lanes at the border, paying 8% QC provincial sales tax
that I wouldn't pay on a shipment to ON (after July 1).

The discrepancy is pretty big, for example the most basic X100e is
U$449/C$519[U$516] (U$614/C$657[U$654] list). The most basic T510 is
U$939/C$1089[U$1084] (U$1314/C$1439[U$1432] list). I don't know what
triggered those sale prices, I didn't enter a coupon.

A RFD coupon of 35% off Canadian is perhaps as good a percentage as
we'll find on a US deal, but it's disheartening to see such a spread
in retail and non-coupon prices.

I'll also be interested to see what the reseller prices are like, I
don't see how they can compete with these constant large coupons and
sales.
