Hi

I am awaiting the arrival of my ThinkPad 240X, which hopefully should be here
tomorrow.

One thing I would like cleared up is the adding a 256MB stick.

Officially it can only take a 128MB stick on top of the on board 64MB, maxxing
at 192MB.

Ive read lots of pages offering conflicting information. Some say the 240 can
take a low density 256MB stick but the 240X cant due to its chipset, others say
both can.

Some say you need to do some hacking in Windows 2000/XP to get the machine to
recognise the full amount, some say this is not needed if the stick is low
density.

So can anyone shed light on what the correct info is.

Can I put a 256MB low density into a P3 500mhz 240X running XP and Linux Mint
LXDE and max it to 320MB?

Simon
