You can get a decent aftermarket T23 battery from dealextreme, and they ship
free to Ireland. The down side is that shipping is a bit slow.

Subject: [Thinkpad] Dying T23
My ancient T23 (which I have passed on to my wife)
only starts after several tries,
and frequently stops for no reason.
The battery lasts for a nanosecond,
and the battery light in the computer is always flashing.
I realize a new battery is required;
but I thought Thinkpads could work on power
regardless of the state of the battery?
Incidentally, can anyone recommend a good site for Thinkpad batteries?
Any advice gratefully received.
