Besides the built-in software, many external drives come with backup
software. (Sometimes you have to look for it on their website, for example
for WD and Seagate/Maxtor drives you go to the WD or Seagate site and
download the software, which is a version of Acronis.)

Helping my sister in-law with her new laptop, trying to get her
started with a good data back-up routine.
I'm getting her an external drive but need advice on software.
New machine has Win 7 installed which I have no experience with.
Is there some sort of backup software built into Win. 7?
If not is there a commercial product that will do the job?
