Yep
Common problem.
Mikey$osft codes their COA to the Brand / Vendor of the CD.
Hence a generic OEM or even REtail Win2000 CD will not take the COA on
the bottom of your laptop.
You need a IBM branded Disk.
You could try giving the Microsoft Help Desk ( the serial number guys in
India ) a call re the COA not working.

Subject: [Thinkpad] WIndows 2000 Code Won't Work
Hi
I have a COA sticker on the bottom of my ThinkPad 240x for Windows 2000 &
NT4. The laptop came without any discs, but I have a Windows 2000 CD.
However, when I tried to install it and put the code in it says invalid
code.
Any ideas?
