Hi:

In the old days, monitor companies used to offer very expensive
(but monochrome) portrait-mode monitors for use with DTP
(Desktop Publishing). I never had one, but I did lust after
them. Sound familiar?

It had never occurred to me that someone would want this so badly
as to give up normal control of the keyboard, but, hey, why not?

Following up an earlier thread suggestion here I was able to
get ATI Catalyst Control Center version 2007.1205.1451.26462
working on my old X32, even though an error message comes up
every time I boot up. With this software, there is no option
to rotate the X32's screen, but I have rotated the external
screen so that it shows a full page at 1080 x 1920--very nice
vertical viewing.

One side effect seems to be sporadic failure of the X32's screen
to blank itself on the timer. Running a video in VLC will always
produce this behaviour, but so, occasionally, do other actions.
