Hi A relative managed to dump some water on her HP DV9000 notebook. Motherboard is dead. The Hard drive did not get wet but will not spin up nor is it recongnized by the BIOS in any other machine. It is possible that when the MB died that it surged the supply lines ..and thus affected the Hitachi HD.
Therefore I am looking for a known Good Hitachi Circuit board. Can be with a DEAD Hard drive as long as said HD still spins ...makes click click noises etc. ie if the Hard drive is ill because of internal mechanical problems then it is likely that the Cicuit board is fine. I'll pay shipping . Or if you have a Good Hitachi Drive ..we could swap with an equiviant 160GB Fuji HD. I have a few. Or some other arrangement. Cicuit boards are available on EBay ...but pricy . ($30 ish ) NEWegg currently has Seagate and Hitachi 500GB Notebook HD's , new with 3 year warranty for $50 net! Thanks for any ideas Peter Machule Bellingham , WA USA or Vancouver, Canada.
