If you're referring to smart cards that are typically 3 1/4" x 2 1/8" and have a chip in them, then typically an application that is looking for the smart card is needed.
We use them, for example, to log into sensitive systems but the application reads the information from the card, i.e., the card reader and driver just make it available. _________________________________ Robert Rosen > Date: Tue, 14 Dec 2010 14:00:56 -0300 > From: Franco Roman <[email protected]> > Subject: [Thinkpad] t61 smart card reader > To: [email protected] > > Hi everyone, i have a T61wide, and the version i have it has a smart card > reader just below the pcmcia slot.
