Hi

My R31 came with the original CD-ROM drive. It works ok, a bit ropey, but I
managed to install two OSes with it.

However, I would like to install a burner drive - either a combo drive (CD
burner, DVD reader) or a full blown DVD RW drive.

I took the actual drive out of the caddy/casing and fitted a UJDA760 combo
drive and my R31 didnt like it. I did have problems with this under XP in
another machine but it worked fine under Ubuntu. I am thinking there is
something up with this drive in particular.

Should I be able to just put any drive in the caddy/casing and it work under
XP/Ubuntu. If so I will pick up a new drive.

Simon
