Alex

I searched the Ubuntu forums and couldnt find any info. I am going to post
my problem and see if anyone has experienced the same problem.

This must be an ACPI or power management issue. Power Management for the R31
under any Ubuntu is a bit flakey, but it seems newer versions have changed
something.

Just installed 9.10 over 10.10 (wiping first of course) and it is all
running very well even on battery - albiet a dodgy battery.

For now I am happy with 9.10. It is very nice and until I get a resolution
will have to do.
