Hello,

I installed 16GB of (4x4GB PC-8500 DDR3) into a ThinkPad W510, so I would imagine this would work with a W500, as well, as it has four SO-DIMM sockets. It would probably be a good idea to find out what the maximum amount of RAM recognized by the chipset is, though, before you make purchase. And purchase from a vendor with
a good return policy, just in case it doesn't work.

Whats the maximum amount of memory you can stuff in a W500?
crucial says 8G which I'm sure is what Lenovos limit is, but I wonder
if if can in fact deal with 16G.

I ask because memory is fantastically cheap right now...

Thanks, STeve Andre'
