Most likely you didn't properly attach one of the little ribbons that
connect the keyboard
to the system board. I once messed that up; things looked ok but upon
reseating all
of them things started working.
The worst case is that you ripped one up and you will have to get a new
keyboard.
I've often wished for a malformed dwarf, to crawl in and assemble stuff
like that
for me...
