It seems to me that if we're going to be increasingly forced to use 16:9
displays, OS & application developers should increasingly offer better "on
the side" interfaces rather than just top/bottom interfaces -- that would
free up more vertical space, by making better use of all that excess
horizontal space.

resolution - give me 1920*1080.
