FYI -- this functionality is somewhat redundant in Windows 7 -- which now offers a 'per-location' default printer setting as well. From Control Panel / Hardware & Sound / Devices & Printers, click on any existing printer and a Manage Default Printers button will be available. From here you can choose which printer to use on which network.

Once i found this, i uninstalled Access Connections on my Win7 system, as that feature was the primary reason I used it to begin with. :)

Butter my biscuit! I've never really paid any attention to that under

And for years, I've always just set Adobe as my default printer to get
around the issues of being connected to different networks!

Thanks for having the problem in the first place Dr. Race.... and Alex,
thanks for helping him fix it!

You can set a default printer on a per-network basis, so your default
printer at home is different from the one at work.

Pardon me for butting in to your's and Dr. Race's thread, but how does one
access this "default printer list" in Access Connections? I've never
noticed this, nor do I understand how Access Connections would come into
play here. The only thing I've ever know AC to do was to manage my LAN and
WLAN network connects (which is does quite nicely I might add... wish I
had
it on all the PC's in the house.

Are you using Access Connections? It has its own default printer list.

WXP no longer remembers upon reboot what was the previously set
