There are still ToughBooks that come in 4:3 aspect ratio. Unfortunately, only
the "fully rugged" ones that weigh around 8lbs...the only resolution offered is
XGA (1024x768) on a 13.3" screen

Great machines for what they're designed for, but too heavy and expensive for
most of "common" laptop tasks...

Cheers,

George

anybody else?

Since I set up my new system (Win 7 on X41 tablet) I have stopped using
any specific Thinkpad software... :( What I miss most is the Access
Connections, and the Sound volume level incrustation.

I also think my Wifi driver has some problems (I get blue screed of
death when I push de hardware undock button on my docking station, and
fail to wait for the sysbar notification to be "removable").

But I have decided to spend less time configuring my computer, so I make
notes in a "PC setup-to do" file, so I can sort things on importance
level. I wonder if the new Panassonic Toughbooks have a 4:3 screen ratio
(they look like).

I've had it download extremely slowly, do some updates/stall 3 times,
can't stop it with Cancel, can't close with Window. It leaves stuff
incomplete, broke my wireless setup and now I can't connect to anything.
AcSvcStub.dll blah blah can find service entry point blahRadioBlah.

Trying again now.
