After remaining dormant on this list for so long, I was somewhat appalled as
well
that someone construes "sucks" as being a sexual innuendo. Like Anthony
suggests, the
dictionary entry is over 20 years old; words change with the times (like
many other things).

And quite honestly, this actually gave me a laugh for today, that someone
would make a big
deal, when I'm sure I've said "This sucks" or "That sucks" many dozens times
in the 15 years
or so I've been a member of this forum.

And for the record - the ThinkVantage software doesn't suck per se (I find
it better written
than software for other notebook vendors), but the website sucks.
Confusing, they keep changing
things, downloads are slow, links are broken, etc.

but uses a T60, T61p and X60 T
on a regular basis)

I was surprised that you found the word "sucks" to be sexual slang or that,
by implication of your cited "rant", you publicly condemned Adrian to be an
assassin of English and of public civility. That dictionary entry you quoted
is now over 20 years old and it offers no insight into how that word is used
today. The publisher of Upside Magazine stated more briefly and less
politely by own feelings about this and I support the position of Seth
Stevenson in Slate http://www.slate.com/id/2146866/.

On topic, I just bought a new and sealed T61, being about the most modern
machine I was able to find with factory installed XP, on Ebay and I wonder
whether Lenovo will give me any warranty.
