Fan costs are an old story. I remember complaining to DEC about the sleeve bearing fans in the VAX and why they didn't use ball bearing fans (which I actually bought and installed to avoid all the fan failure downtime). It came down to dollars spent (ball bearing fans cost half again as much) and would they last through the warranty period. Today's throw away economy makes it even worse. _________________________________ Robert Rosen Chief Information Officer National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases National Institutes of Health US Department of Health & Human Services E-Mail: [email protected]
