No specific experience with that. But, my crazy guess would be that the
File Select dialog has some notion of a drive that is not available,
such as a network mount that's not there at the moment. I've seen those
hang for a long time. You might be able to edit some registry goodness
to set some more reasonable default, like My Documents.
