Hello,

I have a T61 Type 8892 (4:3 14") and recently upgraded to 8GB. I found two 4GB
DDR2 modules at the local Microcenter. No problems.

I think it is a question of the size of memory qualified for the machine. I
saw comments that the current T series can take up to 16GB, but Lenovo has not
qualified that amount of memory.

I was debating on getting a new laptop over the weekend. I think I am going to
wait until the USB 3.0 options are available on more models, likely a T430 or
T530. Putting 8GB has improved the performance of some graphics-based tasks I
was doing.

8GB. I have 8GB in this machine (T61p) and 6GB in my X61 Tablet (upgraded
from the X60 Tablet just to use the extra RAM).

IBM/Lenovo's published ratings never seem to be absolutely correct.

Kingston says that T61 (4:3 14") can take up to 8GB of RAM, but the tabook
(well ltwbook) as well as thinkwiki says that 4GB is the maximum.
Which is it?
