Whoa!

I've seen a bad_pool error before. I was chasing around in circles,
and a friend suggested it was a problem with low-level hardware
drivers. I think she was right, as I scrubbed the system and rebuilt,
and its been running since summer just fine.

bad_pool errors can happen from other things, but I think its
more software than hardware.

Memory and disk tests find no errors.

you haven't mentioned how long you have run the memory test.
Its best to run it over night say 8 hrs using a bootcd so more of the memory can
be tested than in windows.

Any ideas? Like some others on the list, I dread having to "upgrade" from my T41, because I like the 4:3 screen. I've had this thing going for over 6 years. I sure as heck don't want to have to tweak/configure a Windows installation all over again.

I am quite happy with the last 4 by3 Thinkpad the t60 might be worth considering if
you have to replace the motherboard
