Hello Philippe!

I would turn the machine off, remove the hard drive, and try to boot
from a bootable CD, such as a Linux LiveCD (Fedora is my favorite), or
from a bootable USB hard disk or USB flash drive. If that works, your
hard drive is in rough shape.
