I had two extended batteries in a row that not only didn't work on my X61t, they created some kind of short that prevented the machine from powering on with them attached without the adapter plugged in, even with a good, full regular battery. After too much time wasted trying to get a solution, I finally gave up and decided that there is a design flaw in the X6*t extended battery circuitry.
Both batteries tested good, and showed full of amp-hours as long as the power brick was on and in. The only way to reclaim use is to power down or hibernate the machine. Has anyone else ever encountered this issue? And has anyone had any luck getting IBM/Lenovo to address any hardware issues (not necessarily related to this one) via a BIOS update?
