I have a factory-new three-cell battery for the X300, which was
purchased in 2008 and has been sitting on a shelf since then. When I
insert it into an X300, the battery manager reports 0 cycle count, full
design capacity, 8% charge and condition "poor". The battery neither
charges nor discharges. The computer will not turn on with only the
battery installed. Can this battery be salvaged or does it have to be
dumped?
