Thanks for confirming my suspicions. It's easy when done right. For the record: new blank drive in the main drive bay original drive in HDD tray (in CD bay) boot, hit F12 (boot options), select HDD tray disk run Seagate DiskWizard, cloning original to new disk (allows changing partition sizes) one small gotcha: DiskWizard needs to reboot, and when it does, if you've used F12 (instead of changing boot order in bios), it will find the new (as yet empty disk) and halt, unless you're fast enough with another F12. If you miss it (as I did) another manual boot + F12 gets things back on track. old disk copied to new one as a preboot step when rebooting shut down machine, take out HDD tray, reboot. new disk boots, far more room, I'm breathing calmly again.
