See forum.thinkpads.com for a thread or two on the subject. If memory serves, I fixed the problem I was having with an x61s by rolling back the video driver a few generations, but I tried a lot of suggestions from thinkpads.com and from general googling. Fixes that worked for some did not work for others, so you may need to experiment.

Lo,

I use process explorer to replace the task manager and it shows "interrupts" running
at 30% on x61 after i have been using the laptop for say 15minutes.
Its not present at boot up so it seems to kick in later.

I have run PC doctor off cd and it passed all tests.

Is this a common problem with the x61?
(along with the squeaking noise at the right side of the laptop)

Any other ideas to try and find out what is happening?
