How do you 'burn them in'?

Lately, I've been installing OpenBSD on a machine and doing a
bulk build of packages, all the third party programs that run
on it. About 7,600 programs mostly written in C, and even on
a really fast system it takes about 30 hours. Compiling does
lots of disk I/O and also is a good stress test for systems in
general.

There is also an open source program called iogen which makes
software suffer. Not sure what op systems it's been ported to.

I wrote something, dt (disk terrorizer), but the code ownership
is still tied up so I can't give it out yet.
