In 9 out of 10 scenarios, what you are decribing would point to a bad LCD
panel.

However, re-seating the connectors on both ends of the LCD cable doesn't cost
anything and is not difficult to do.

Good luck.

Cheers,

George

Subject: [Thinkpad] Display flicker on Thinkpad T60

Hi:

I have an old ThinkPad T60 that has not been used for a few years that I am
trying to resurrected.
It has some display problems.
The lower 3/4 of the screen frequently shows grey vertical stripes which
reduce the screen contrast to the point of being unreadable.
Tilting the screen back and forth can improve the situation, but not
completely.
Screen is 14-inch, 1400x1050.

I thought that it might be a bad cable connection, but when I looked at the
hardware maintenance manual it shows the cable connector being bolted down
under the keyboard, which makes that seem less likely.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks! -jack
