Do you have the appropriate Pali Font(s) installed? If you do, you should
be able to use Character Map in advanced mode to copy/paste the characters.

Advice pls: I'm trying to enter special characters but have encountered
problems, probably my understanding.

MS http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315684 says

"Press and hold down the ALT key while you type the four number Unicode value
for the character.
Note that NUM LOCK must be on, and you have to use the number pad keys to type
the Unicode
character value."

I have tried this and as soon as I depress the first numeric key I get a
beep indicating rejection of this action.

I am guessing that guessing that num lock is not enabled by default on the T43.

How do I enable it. I googled and got some scary stuff about registry editing.
Pls help on this.

And once enabled, how do I invoke it (as opposed to the Scroll Lock which is
on the same key).?

I also vaguely recall once seeing on some computer a small screen display
when any of these special key functions was active. Is this part of the OS
or do I need to download some special ap?

[I need this for entering some special characters to display a Pali in
Latin characters.]

Thanks for all help
