This needs to be done in most of the programming languages. Does Apache have
standardized namespaces for C++ as well? And package names for Python/Ruby etc?
What's the general approach about doing this? Since it's a breaking change for
client application code, it seems like it'd be nice not to make this change
until a release window occurs, or to offer some period of compatibility (though
I'm not sure how to easily enable both mechanisms at once).
