Sorry I'm late to the party on this one. I'm fine with the protobuf
acknowledgement. I had used protobufs at Google a bit, though never actually
seen the implementation. Pillar was the more direct inspiration to actually
figure out the implementation, write it in an abstracted way, and release it.
