I was cross-posting mainly to let people know that there were potentially widespread problems with the subscriptions process for [email protected], as Kevin Clark having the problems that I was.
Jim Kellerman let me know the source of the problem < the Apache subscription manager does not accept emails that contain periods in the username portion of your email address (both Kevin and I now have emails of the form [email protected]). The confusing part is that the failure is completely silent, so we didn¹t understand why we were receiving mail from the list. Happy to keep the rest of the discussion at [email protected]...
