I hope you didn't feel I was sweating small stuff. I wasn't trying to obstruct a release or otherwise create a roadblock. But I have seen lots of projects get confused about source versus non-source in releases; at the extreme, leaving out sources and releasing binaries. So I think it's worth explaining ASF principles, in this case, that releases should include all the the source code.

I think if you hadn't said "nononono, Doug", but rather what Bryan said, "I think it's pretty clearly non-source." then our discussion would have been much shorter. I wanted Bryan to think about whether it was source, and he did. I didn't want to make that judgement for him.
