I don't see a real problem here. If you put only basic information
(permissions, ownership, filesize, MIME type, associated application)
there, you should end up with about 8-10 lines, which makes the
tooltips have a size of about 200x300 pixels at maximum (depending on
the font size, of course). This seems ok to me.
