I don't know which version of GTK+ you're using but I assume that your GTK+ dialogs show these mounts because you have GIO and GVfs installed. I'm working on migrating Thunar from ThunarVFS to GIO at the moment, so these features will be available in future versions of Thunar (either 1.2 or 1.4, but hopefully in 1.2). You can follow the status on my weblog (gezeiten.org) and the wiki I've set up: http://lunar-linux.org/~jannis/migrating-thunar-to-gio/ I suppose it'll take a few more months until it's all done and a new version will be shipped.
