I'm sorry if this has been covered, but I can't seem to find it
anywhere...after today's Hotmail update debacle and subsequent and
notorious 'bad vibes' access issues, I upgraded to the latest Thunder
bird version (2.0.0.17), as well as upgrading extension versions from
Webmail 1.3.2 and Hotmail 1.2.18 to Webmail 1.3.3b3 and Hotmail
1.2.19b33. However, I want to make sure that I've installed them
properly, as now I'm only getting a fraction of my unread emails
downloaded from Hotmail into Thunderbird (like 2 out of 6), and I
can't find an .xpi file when
when the zip file containing the new extension unzips. Thus, since
these latest versions don't seem to come as .xpi files, I went into my
Library folder (OS X 10.5.3) then into the Thunderbird folder located
therein, then the Profile and another weirdly numbered folder witha
",default" suffix, and finally into the extensions folder. There I
found two folders with odd and lengthy names, one for the webmail
extension and one for the hotmail extension. I basically swapped out
the previous contents of these folders with the contents from the
folders for the new extensions and voila, my add ons window in
Thunderbird reflects the newest version.

Is this the correct way to install them? Any other help re: why I'm
only getting partial downloadds is greatly appreciated, too!

Best,

David
