Are there are restrictions on the format of folder names in Webmail
for Yahoo? (There are none documented, apart from the three special
cases of Trash, Draft and Sent)

I have Thunderbird 2.0.0.19 with Webmail 1.3.2, Yahoo 1.3.4 (also
Hotmail 1.2.19), with a couple of extra folders specified to be
downloaded in Yahoo Webmail options. Yahoo website specified as Beta.
All was working fine, with mails being downloaded ok, until I renamed
one of the extra folders, by prefixing with a _ (underscore) - this
caused no problems within Yahoo mail (via Web). But, having added its
new name (and removed the old one) in Yahoo Webmail options, nothing
was found to be downloaded (there should have been three). A further
rename (+ change of option) by adding a leading 'a' did not change
things, then a third rename to remove the underscore did get round the
problem, mail was downloaded ok.

So was the underscore in the name the cause of the problem - of a
folder which is valid within Yahoo not being properly processed? Are
there any other characters, or situations, which will give the same
problem? Does the same apply to other components?

Is there actually any reason why the Sent folder (and the other two)
cannot be specified to be downloaded?

Jeremy
