You also need the webmail extension. I have webmail 1.3.2. Download from <http://webmail.mozdev.org/installation.html>. The usual thing is to install webmail 1.3.2 first, restart thunderbird then install the Hotmail extension. You may need to uninstall the Hotmail extension before installing webmail.
