As far as I can tell there is no longer a beta Yahoo! web mail interface. There is either the new interface or the old class interface. If memory serves they started removing the beta tag from the new mail interface in the fall of 2007.
I'm getting the "RETR error too. I have had the new Yahoo! webmail interface selected and the "BETA website" option in the Webmail-Yahoo addon for quite some time now. The RETR error has been present for about a week now.
