OK, I stumbled around in the yahoo site, switched back to 'classic', eventually 
changed whatever location stuff I could find to Malaysia and Singapore and then 
tried to add POP support.  Message said 'Sorry, not for sale at this time.' 
Gave up.

Tweaked around with my TB yahoo account settings (again, from one of the 
messages [chubby22] in the referenced thread) .  This worked:

Server Name:  plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Port: 995
Security:  SSL

I didn't do anything about the SMTP server, but the post mentioned above said 
smtp.mail.yahoo.com works.

Now my second yahoo account works.  YAHOO!
