You replied to me directly rather than to the forum. It appears that you are finding that if you use the WebDav connection you experience no problems. This is no surprise. The WebDav connection (only available to a limited group of Hotmail users - by Microsoft decision and certainly not the decision of these extensions) has always been the most effective and most stable option. However, as I have reported in another thread, this option ceases to be usable on 1 September 2009.
I would like to try to experience the kind of problem you are experiencing. You have reported that the file size of the attachment causing you problems is about 3Mb but can you also advise the file type. I know that non-WebDav accounts in the extensions experience a far greater CPU/memory load but I believe that the Webmail Author has made recent efforts to reduce this overhead. Are you also aware of the option of using simple free POP access to Hotmail servers now available rather than using the Hotmail extension?
