I don't completely understand the response. I understand that if Thunderbird and the web server have an SSL connection, the Webmail extension can see the traffic as it would be encrypted.
But can't the Webmail extension have its own SS connection to the web server? In fact, if a GMail account is configured always to use SSL, I assume that the Webmail extension will use SSL (https). A perusal of my GMail logs suggests that the extension starts with http but shifts to https, presumably due to responses from the web server. In my browser, I can go straight to https://www.gmail.com/ if I like. I was just wondering if one could somehow tell the Webmail extension to start with https. Of course, it wouldn't make sense to do that if the web server didn't support https. I don't understand the reference to an SSL proxy. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Thunderbird Webmail Extension" group.
