Lately I've been getting "...negative vibes" errors after which I'm
asked for my password. If I enter the password and check "Have
Thunderbird remember this password" I get a clean logon for a while,
but eventually I get back to the "negative vibes" stuff. This just
happened and the following message appeared in the error console"

It may be that Thunderbird is somehow "forgetting" the logon
information for the Yahoo account. Sometimes after a problem getting
Yahoo mail, when I check the passwords remembered in Thunderbird the
Yahoo (Local Host) login is missing. I hope you can make some sense
of this. If not I will try to clarify whatever you need. Thanks for
your help.
