In the Hotmail extension options, under the "POP" tab, there is an 
option to download folders and a box where you can list the names of the 
folders you want to download. Note that by default, all these mails will 
be downloaded to Thunderbird's Inbox. If you want them to go to folders 
with the same names as you have in Hotmail. You first have to create 
these folders in Thunderbird, then set up message filters to sort them 
into the folders. Helpfully, the webmail extension adds a line to the 
mail headers something like "X-folder = "Name of folder"". You can set 
up filters to read this line and send mails to relevant folders.
