I have set up thunderbird to download my google emails, with pop server pop.gmail.com. I get the message, when thunderbird trying to download from Google that "an error occurred with pop3 mail service.Mail server pop.gmail. com responded", then no further information, just an OK button. No mail downloaded. I tried with and without "recent" at the start of the email address. I tried the suggestion to delete messages on server. No luck Tried Captcha - no luck.
