Sometimes I have struck a message that gets "stuck" refuses to download 
hence stopping the retrieval of new messages.
Go in via the web front end and check your inbox, delete the 1 that 
keeps on downloading (and/or possibly the one after) just leaving this 
small message thats not downloading.
