OMG!!!  Thank you so much!!!

I got it working.

OK, here's the problem . . .   For my OWA server, my email address is NOT my login user name.  So for the username, I did not enter the domain as part of the user name.   And the OWA extension was looking at the username field instead of the email address field to determine whether it was an OWA account or not.

I entered my email address as the username and it was detected as an OWA account.  But obviously that wouldn't work since it's not my username.  But I then noticed that there was an option in the OWA preferences as to whether to include the domain or not when logging in.

So I entered my "username with the domain" as my username, and then chose to not use the domain as part of the login, and now it works!!!

Thanks so much!  I greatly appreciate it!

1> First Setup an owa account
	a. Under tools, account settings, add account
	b. Under Account Type select Webmail then select Next
	c. Enter your name and your complete email address
([email protected])
	   Then select Next
	d. Enter an incoming user name then select Finish
	e. Now under tools, account settings.
		1. Select server settings under the new newly created account.
                2. Enter your complete email again in user name field
([email protected]) and click ok.

2> Restart Thunderbird

If all goes well you should be able to see the account under the owa
add-on.

This is where you can select WebDAV or ScreenRipper
Will also see a Login tab Check if the setting is correct for your
account.

Your OWA add-on Domains should look like this:
Domain : yourwebsite.com
Uri: http://yourwebsite.com
This is just an example address use your real owa info.

You will also need select correct connection protocols and security
settings. You also need to setup your smtp outgoing server info.

Since I don't an actual owa account will not be able help any further.

Good Luck

This article was written for Thunderbird but also applies to
Mozilla Suite / SeaMonkey (though some menu sequences may differ).

Outlook Web Access (OWA) gives Microsoft Exchange users direct access
to their mailbox, calendar, contacts, public folders, and the Global
Address List (GAL) using a browser. Thunderbird doesn't support OWA
because it requires WebDAV support, and Thunderbird only supports
fetching mail using POP3 and IMAP.

Freepops is a add-on that supports many different webmail
implementations. It looks like they've started a project to add
support for OWA to FreePOPs. Take a look in thier forums to find the
status.

MrPostman has two scripts to support OWA.

Pop2OWA Open source mail proxy program for Outlook Web Access written
in Visual Basic.

fetchExc is a program written in Java to fetch mail from OWA

The webmail extension author has posted instructions on how to
configure a generic webmail extension for a domain and suggested it
could be used to access a Microsoft Exchange server via HTTP. However,
he also stated that the extension just responds to Thunderbird
commands - you need to provide provide the login and download code.
I copy the webmail author instructions and discussion link below:

I'm having the exact same problem.  I posted a few weeks ago, but
haven't heard anything else about it.

I'm using the following:

Linux OS:  openSuse 11.1
Thunderbird 2.0.0.23
WebMail 1.3.3
WebMail-OWA 0.7.0a36

I noticed that for the WebMail preferences, it only lists servers for
POP, SMTP, and IMAP.   And when I create an account, it defaults to the
port for the POP server (5110).  Should there be another port used for
the OWA account?

Thinking it might be a Linux issue, I tested on a Windows computer, and
got the same problem.  I'm hoping this can be resolved soon.  Outlook is
the only thing keeping me tethered to my Windows Virtual machine.

Thanks so much.

I installed WebMail 1.3.3 + WebMail - OWA 0.7.0a36 on Thunderbird
2.0.0.23 running on Ubuntu and am struggling with the OWA setup. I
managed to add a domain, but the Accounts tab of OWA Options says "No
OWA Accounts Found". Any hints as to what I'm doing wrong?
