That's exactly what the webmail extensions are for. Download and install
the generic webmail extension and the specific Yahoo extension. Then set
your account up as a webmail account in Thunderbird (the option to set a
new account as webmail will not be present unless the extensions are
installed). Note that the only interface for Yahoo mail that is now
supported is the new version. If you still have your Yahoo mail set to
any variant of "Classic" mail, you will need to go to the Yahoo web site
and change to the new version before using the extensions to download mail.

Has anyone been able to download Yahoo eMail from Thunderbird?
Yahoo's information indicated a premium svc needs to be purchased for
$20/yr to do this. Hopefully there is a workaround of come sort.
Thanks
