Adendum.

choice may simply mean what Thunderbird gives you by default. If
anyone sets up a Hotmail account in Thunderbird 3 then pop3.live.com
will be set up as the default server. The developers of Thunderbird
have no care or consideration for these Webmail add-ons at all and, I
suspect, that they may to some extent deprecate them. I was simply
advising you that, whatever you thought, you were not using the the
Webmail extension for Hotmail. Now that you are I am glad that you are
getting your mail delivered as so very many of us who have been using
the add-on have experienced for some considerable time without
interruption.

As for updates for Thunderbird ... since there are always very few
desirable features in the latest major release of Thunderbird it is
always a great idea to avoid updating Thunderbird to a new "major"
release until the add-on developers have had a chance to make the add-
ons compatible unless there is a feature you really want and your
"must have" add-ons have been updated. I am still waiting for that to
happen.
