 The webmail extensions work for the Thunderbird email client. They 
don't work with any version of Firefox or any other browser.
What I suspect has happened, is that you clicked on a link to a webmail 
extension when viewing a webpage in Firefox. Because Thunderbird and 
Firefox use the same .XPI file extension, Firefox tried to install the 
extension in itself then found that the extension isn't a Firefox 
extension. What you have to do is RIGHT click on the link and save the 
file to a suitable location on your computer. You can then install the 
extension in Thunderbird. In the current version of TB you will find the 
installation dialogue under "Tools", "Add-ons".
